INFORMATION FOR ACTORS

“I love the idea of workshopping playwrights work through this medium.  It gives artists from all over the globe the chance to work together.  The group is incredibly encouraging and supportive.  Actors have the space to play a lot with their characters while still staying on track with the mission of helping the playwright uplift their work.  I would highly recommend getting involved with this company because I do feel they are on to something that will be staying with us on some level for permanent future!”
– Dan Shaked, Actor

Thank you for your interest in reading with us!

Walking Shadow Readers Theatre is an all-virtual theatre company. All of our readings will be done from your home. The technical and scheduling requirements for participating actors are listed below. At this time, we are offering a small stipend to artists who work with our company. Walking Shadow Readers Theatre encourages actors of all ages, genders, races and ethnicities to submit. Any current casting opportunities will be listed below, but feel free to submit your headshot and resume to walkingshadowrt@gmail.com at any time for general submission to our files.

Walking Shadow Readers Theatre works with new and established playwrights to develop their projects in a workshop-style setting. Our readings give playwrights a chance to hear their words and characters out loud. The company members then provide playwrights with a 30–45-minute structured feedback session to help with future revisions of the play. The actors participate in the feedback session after the performance.

Walking Shadow Readers Theatre is committed to community, to preparation and to helping the playwright hear their story in a truthful way. It was such a pleasure to work with them and be welcomed into their world! I’m super excited to see what comes from their work!

I love being part of the process of introducing interesting plays to new audiences through the Zoom readings put on by WSRT. It is fun and a great experience to test out new plays and help develop the characters through the reading process. Everyone involved is super nice, supportive and professional!
